Weinstein JCC is running a special on memberships! To learn about what to expect when visiting JCC’s Camp Hilbert Outdoor Pool, read this review!
We visited yesterday afternoon and had a wonderful time.
Along with the main swimming pool, there is also a slide, a diving board/well, and a zero-entry shallow section with a water feature for smaller children. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the staff/lifeguards were very welcoming but also great about ensuring everyone’s safety (the facility is also gated, which I liked in terms of safety).
The drive through Goochland county to get there is beautiful, as well as the camp grounds surrounding the pool. There is a lake with a shaded picnic area you can see from the pool deck, and we even saw a doe with her fawn just outside the gated pool area.
They do let you bring your own snacks/drinks in, but we thought the snack bar prices were very reasonable. The $0.25 icees were a hit with my crew during adult swim – which is the last 15 minutes of each hour.
The head lifeguard said they have adult swim once the amount of children in the pool gets to a certain number. I don’t think they had it the first hour we were there – it was not crowded at all! Even when they had adult swim, it was not crowded. It definitely seems like a hidden gem.
