The New Year’s Eve celebration for all ages will feature mountain magic, gorgeous holiday light displays, delectable cuisine, ice skating, dancing, and special glow-in-the-dark activities.
Light It Up! includes one night’s lodging; a $100 dining credit; New Year’s Eve Glow-in-the-Dark Dance Party; Night Ice Skating with Glow Sticks; a Bonfire with S’mores; Glow-in-the-Dark recreational activities, and New Year’s Day Breakfast Buffet. After-Dark Winter Wonderland New Year’s Eve begins with a stroll through the Magical Light Display, which bedazzles the entire resort starting at 5:30 p.m. It’s a virtual winter wonderland counting down to midnight with glittering décor and dreamy vistas from atop Salt Pond Mountain.

The farm-to-table New Year’s Eve menu is headed up by Oysters Rockefeller, Shrimp Cocktail, and Pan-Seared Sesame Tuna appetizers. Classic Caesar or Winter House Salad follow, along with several entrée choices including Prime Rib, Rack of Lamb, Filet Oscar and Pan Seared Duck. Baked Alaska tops it all off. The cost is $75 per person and $19.95 for the children’s menu. A complimentary Champagne Toast will ring in the New Year, in addition to a delicious New Year’s Day Breakfast Buffet.
Away from the noise and hubbub but convenient to such major cities as Richmond, Baltimore and Washington, D.C., Mountain Lake Lodge is the perfect place to welcome in the New Year. With glorious views and 22 miles of pristine trails, guests can park their cars upon arrival and take shuttles to activities and through the nature preserve for the length of their stay. Mountain Lake Lodge or “Kellerman’s” is where the iconic movie Dirty Dancing was filmed 36 years ago.
