Richmond Book Festival at Lois Harrison-Jones Elementary School Promises a Day of Literary Delight and Community Fun
The vibrant community of Lois Harrison-Jones Elementary School is thrilled to announce the upcoming Richmond Book Festival, set to take place on Saturday, April 27th, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This family-friendly event promises an immersive celebration of literature, creativity, and community engagement.
The Richmond Book Festival will transform Lois Harrison-Jones Elementary School into a literary haven, featuring discounted books, a silent auction, and an exciting raffle with fantastic prizes. Families can explore a variety of activities, including bounce houses, face painting, and a unique “Fiction Factory” pop-up book creation station, providing an opportunity for children and adults alike to unleash their creativity.
In addition to the literary delights, the festival will host a diverse array of vendors offering a range of products and services. Attendees can also indulge in delicious food available for purchase, and satisfy their sweet tooth with sweets. All proceeds from food sales will contribute
to vital initiatives supported by the Lois Harrison-Jones Elementary PTA.
The event is not only a celebration of literature but also a fundraiser to support crucial initiatives at Lois Harrison-Jones Elementary School. Funds raised during the festival will contribute to the Caboose revitalization project, teacher appreciation efforts, after-school programming, and the maintenance of the school’s beautiful eco-friendly campus.
“We’re excited to bring the Richmond Book Festival to our community, creating a space where families and book enthusiasts can come together to celebrate the joy of reading,” said Janina King-Poulin, one of the event organizers and president of the Lois Harrison-Jones Elementary PTA. “This event not only promotes literacy but also supports important initiatives that enhance the educational experience for our students.”
The Richmond Book Festival is open to the public, and admission is free. Join us on Saturday, April 27th, at Lois Harrison-Jones Elementary School, 3021 Maplewood Avenue Richmond, VA 23221, for a day filled with literary exploration, family-friendly activities, and community spirit. Be sure to bring your friends, family, and a love for books!
